On the 19th & 20th Jan 2016 I performed at two amazing London venues:
The Union Chapel & The Islington Assembly Halls – both shows were sold out
My Reason for being there was all thanks to my long time collaborations with West End superstar Ramin Karimloo. On a cold January day in 2012 we met in a South London studio and started rehearsing for a small private showcase held at the Cafe De Paris in Leicester Square. This soon led to pre-show ‘Jam’ sessions in his Queen’s Theatre dressing room. Playing songs he’d written with Hadley Fraser (another West End star), songs from his ‘soon-to-be-released’ Album and a collection of other tunes that eventually became the backbone of the Broadgrass Band
In 2012/2013 we travelled extensively around the UK, USA as well as South Korea performing as The Broadgrass Band to great response and an every growing audience. We employed countless musicians along the way and enjoyed a ‘Road To Find Out’ like no other, in short, It was a BLAST!
Some of the people we met along the way, Debby & Denise from Texas, the Jarmon’s from NYC, Sergio, Tony Tino are still in my life today and the long list of followers who have supported me (post Broadgrass) has been incredible
Eventually all good things come to an end. Ramin took long term contracts in the USA performing in Les Mis on Broadway and I returned to the UK, inspired, ready to start my own wheels turning
My first EP (Little Things) was released in Oct 2014, followed by ‘Hold Me Close’ in Aug/Nov 2015 and ‘Let Love Begin’ in Dec 2015. During Oct 2015 I started a Pledge Music campaign which takes the enthusiasm and love of friends & fans (the line blurs) to raise the capital to make an Album. Within 30 days of my 180 day campaign I hit my target and began recording my Album.
I opened for Ramin at these two stunning venues and below is a song – Live from the Union Chapel London – which I hope to be the first single due out in March 2016: It’s called Back To Mine – enjoy, share, pledge 🙂
