Supporting Ramin Karimloo

On Jan 19th & 20th I will be Guest Support for the Actor/Singer Ramin Karimloo at his two special UK shows in London

My journey with Ramin began back in January 2012 when, after playing guitar on his album, I was asked to put together a small band to perform a showcase for his label Sony as well his curious friends and colleagues in the Musical Theatre world. Introduced on stage by Cameron Mackingtosh the gig began a working friendship that eventually saw the formation of The Broadgrass Band one sunny afternoon in Dallas some months later

Combining Musical Theatre with Ramin’s personal passion for Country & Bluegrass music the band took on the risky proposition of presenting a show that appealed to the multitude of Les Mis & Phantom fans as well as the venues and new audiences we encountered across the UK, USA & Asia. In addition to the MT classics and choice covers versions we performed a couple of original compositions too – here’s a video of our song ‘When Does It Go Away‘ outside a venue in Philadelphia

The band was a great success and Ramin was presented with the ‘Best Live Act of 2013‘ by America’s Broadway World website.  We toured extensively across the USA including sold out shows at the legendary BB Kings in New York City, gigs in Nashville, Texas and a whole host of other cities. The band headlined at the Little Lake Festival in Canada followed by dates in South Korea where the fans were nothing but enthusiastic about this unusual marriage of Country Fiddle meets Musical Theatre

Fast forward to the present day; Ramin, after a long stint in Les Mis on Broadway, returns to the UK with an all new Broadgrass Band. Rather than try and recreate the 2012/13 line up it was to my great pleasure that Ramin suggested I open up the show with my own material so I could promote my Album campaign on Pledge Music and perform tunes from my EP to some of the diligent fans that have supported me in my own ventures

Jan 19th at the Union Chapel London is sold out but there are still tickets left for Jan 20th at Islington Assembly Hall CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS
